ARGIRA new espectacle.
Argira (Towards the light), is the sixth show to be put on by this veteran group from San Sebastian, focussed on dancing activities with the disabled. Argira is a continuation of its predecessor Ilunpetik (from the darkness).

Argira is a show that dreams about a modern, present-day society in which people with disabilities are allowed to develop freely and achieve their full potential. The choreographer, Isabel Verdini starts from a story in which an old man picks up a sparrow because he thinks that the City is full of dangers and that the bird will not be able to survive. Therefore, in order to help and protect the sparrow, he takes it home and gently puts it into a cage, away from all the dangers of the outside world, feeding it and taking good care of it … until one day, when he goes to see it, he finds it dead.
«I have loved and cared for the sparrow, I have protected it, I have cried, laughed, vibrated and suffered with it, but ... Have I helped it to develop and to become a free being? Have I given it and allowed it to exercise its freedom?»
